Mt. Hood Sasquatch Festival WEEKEND
For our fifth adventure of the year, we headed to our friend’s cozy cabin on Mt. Hood to meet up with Jon & Sara Brown and Shane Corson for the first-ever Mt. Hood Sasquatch Festival!
We arrived on Thursday, with Jon & Sara right behind us, and Shane rolling in on Friday. That first night, we cooked dinner and stayed up late talking around the cabin—these trips are always a blast when we’re together!
Day One – Filming the Mt. Hood Documentary
The next day, we jumped right into helping Jon & Sara film for their Mt. Hood documentary (linked below). We started near the cabin at a horse camp off Lolo Pass, exploring a few nearby campsites, then made our way up to Government Camp and Timberline Lodge. The scenery was incredible, and they captured some awesome footage both up at the lodge and on the drive back down.
That evening, we made our way to the festival and met up with a bunch of friends. Later, Shane joined us at the cabin, dropped off his gear, and we all headed over to a friend’s campsite to hang out by the fire. Another fun (and slightly wild) night with our crew—exactly how we like it!
Day Two – NABC and Interviews
Shane had to head out the next day, but we spent more time at the festival checking out the presenters. One of the highlights? Sara got permission from Cliff Barackman to film at the North American Bigfoot Center (NABC)—something he rarely allows! While Sara filmed, I got to enjoy the museum and exhibits, which are always a treat to explore.
After that, we returned to the festival briefly, then headed back to the cabin where Jon & Sara interviewed Tyler Kennedy from the NABC. That night was low-key—we stayed in, relaxed by the fireplace, and just unwound from all the excitement.
Final Day – Bluebird Skies and Drone Views
On our final morning, we had breakfast, cleaned up the cabin, and said goodbye to Jon & Sara. It was a bluebird day on the mountain—perfect weather—so we took advantage and did some exploring and droning. Alan captured some beautiful aerial footage that’s posted below.
This was the very first Mt. Hood Sasquatch Festival, and it felt like a huge success. We're already looking forward to next year!
📍 Special thanks to Cliff and the NABC for allowing rare filming access.
