April 2, 2025 – Spring in the Northern Cascades: Our Fourth Adventure of the Year
Our fourth trip of the year took us back to one of our favorite places—the breathtaking Northern Cascades. This time, the goal wasn’t just research but also reconnecting with friends and enjoying the arrival of spring in the mountains.
We met up with our friends Ally, her husband Chris, and their daughter Liv for the weekend. Joining the adventure were Michael, Tom, Sara, and her daughter Sid, along with a few more of Ally and Chris’s friends who were just as eager to soak up the fresh mountain air.
The vibe this time around was a stark contrast to our January visit. Back then, we had the entire campground to ourselves—it was cold, quiet, and perfect for focused research. This trip, however, was full of life. The campground was buzzing with spring campers, the snow had mostly melted, and the forest felt alive again.
From a Sasquatch research perspective, the weekend was admittedly uneventful. We had high hopes of recapturing the thermal footage we caught in January—but nature had other plans. That’s the nature of this work: sometimes you strike gold, and sometimes… it’s just a quiet weekend under the stars.
Still, the time was far from wasted. We spent hours exploring the area, scouting out new group campsite possibilities for future trips, and brainstorming ideas with our extended research family. These are the kinds of connections that keep our passion alive, even when the trail goes cold.
